Boston officials said they had received information that a man was found injured after an explosion on the university campus and was taken to hospital. Part of Northeastern University's campus in Boston was sealed late Tuesday to investigate suspicious packages, and there were unconfirmed reports of an explosion and at least one person with minor injuries.
Boston police said they were investigating two packages that were left near the university's Holmes Hall, which is home to Northeast's creative writing program. He declined to give details, Boston police later confirmed that a person was injured on the Northeast University campus after a package exploded and was taken to a nearby hospital.

University police tweeted that emergency services were responding to an incident at Holmes Hall and asked people to stay away from the area.

Boston EMS took one person to an area hospital Tuesday night, officials said.
